Hop on a bus for an exploration of many providores specializing in Middle Eastern ingredients. Shop, taste and marvel, then back to the kitchen for a hands-on class which will become a rich, shared lunch. OH&S conditions apply.
Global Street Food

This is a hands-on class that celebrates the recipes and cultures of some of the food I have discovered in my travels the food the locals eat to sustain them until lunch or dinner!
So, sushi from Japan, custard egg tarts in China, pizza, arancini from Italy, brioche from France, meatballs from Spain, pide from Turkey and tuna and egg pastries from North Africa. I havent been everywhereyet! OH&S conditions apply.
From Market to Table
Saturday, October 16th at 8.00am 3.00pm / $120
Meet at Lucias and then take a leisurely tour of the market, sharing recipes and stories with the vendors. Tasting as we go, we will buy the ingredients to take back to the kitchen to prepare, under my watchful eye, a terrific culturally diverse lunch. OH&S conditions apply.
Moors and Christians In the footsteps of the Moors

The Moors were great travellers and merchants and they left their influence on many traditionally Christian countries. This is a hands-on class designed for a small group where we can identify and practice the recipes from Venice, Sicily, Spain and North Africa that were inspired by the Moors. OH&S conditions apply.
Gnocching on Heavens Door
Monday, October 25th at 6.30pm 9.30pm / $90
Ask an Italian for a plate of gnocchi and he/she will look perplexed. Join me to make the three very different types of gnocchi the delicious potato ones (also with fillings!), semolina gnocchi from Lazio and a variety of dumplings know as malfatti made with all manner of ingredients ricotta, pumpkin, even prunes in the style of Trentino! This is a hands on class, so OH&S conditions apply.
Primavera An Italian Spring Dinner

Fresh, fresh, fresh! A celebration of spring in South Australia with an Italian twist (I cant help myself!) A delicious vegetarian entr饬 with milk fed lamb and a stunning dessert and youll make it all yourself, honing skills along the way. OH&S conditions apply.
South East Asian on our Doorstep

Cant travel to Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia this year? At least you can satisfy your taste buds! In this hands on class we will start at the market for a delicious pho breakfast and then shop for our specialized ingredients at the Asian shops. Back at the kitchen, we will don our aprons to make fresh, healthy recipes from the region, then sit down and enjoy our lunch.

Please read this information carefully before booking...
Classes, both demonstration and practical are small and focussed only on learning, there is no shopping to distract us from our main purpose!
When practical classes are offered, we ask that participants bring an apron and if possible a chef's knife and a paring knife.
There are important occupational health and safety rules that must be followed when participating in a practical class. These are non-negotiable.
These include:
- Closed, non-slip shoes must be worn
- No jewellry to be worn, this includes wedding bands, watches and earings which do not have clasps.
- Hair must be tied back or under a hat.
- No alcohol can be served while preparations are taking place.
Please ring Rosa on 08 8373 6106 for bookings. Bookings can be accepted only with payment by cheque, money order, credit card or cash.
Refunds are given only with 2 days' notice. Credits or transfers are accommodated with 24 hours' notice except for special interest courses. Where a class has to be cancelled or postponed as much notice as possible is given. You will then have the option of a credit, transfer or a full refund.
